Improve overall English abilities through systematic study of basic English grammar, grammar practice and reading comprehension

Each lesson is contained in a four-page spread. The first two pages contain grammatical explanations and practice exercises, while the second two pages contain practice in understanding the content of essays. The grammatical explanations are followed by short questions. The second half of the unit has essays on cross-cultural issues, from 250-270 words in length, true/false comprehension questions, dictations to aid the understanding of cultural background, and exercises relevant to the unit’s grammar points. In addition to translations and answers, the teacher’s manual contains a review test every six units.
