This writing textbook for lower-intermediate learners (CEFR A2–B1) is intended to help them express their ideas in simple English in everyday situations. Grammar explanations and Japanese-to-English translation are kept to a minimum, the main focus being on situational and functional explanations and practice exercises that show which expressions and sentence patterns can be used in different contexts. As well as writing practice that progresses from sentences to paragraphs, introductory dialogues and reading passages will also expose learners to natural English input. The book consists of 14 units. Target sentences from each unit are compiled at the back, and teacher’s material includes review tests.
